Ad Deconstruction
This project shows my ability to deconstruct the hidden meanings and messages behind a picture ad. I took a random McDonalds ad out of the thousands that they have and ripped apart all of the sneaky (and not so sneaky) tricks they use to trick you into buying their product. Buyer beware with this one.
Branded Quiz
With this project our goal was to find examples of people and images that the media wants you to see and contrast them with other people that we think the media doesn't represent as well. Therefore calling it the "Branded quiz" because of the brand the media puts on your perception of who's important.
Video ad Deconstruction

Artist Statement: After going to McDonalds quite a bit this year for lunch I have noticed that none of the pictures on the menu look like the actual item you receive. It technically isn’t false advertising you are still getting everything shown in the picture, but the quantity and quality of the ingredients are definitely altered. These types of images that are “buttered up” by the advertising industry to make product or places look more appealing, can have a very negative impact on our perception of the real world. If we are seeing these bright happy and perfect pictures of life that can make the real world feel disappointing, and make everyone much more cynical. With my ad I tried to take a picture that accurately represents the product that is given to you, and portray with a McDonald’s ad may look like if they didn’t “card stack”.
